Well it's all finally coming together. I set up my temporary housing in Australia and bought my ticket. I'll be staying at a hostel type place which I'm hoping will help me meet a lot of interesting people right when I get there (and be nice on the ol bank account too). Also, tickets to Australia usually run about $1,800. I got a one-way ticket for $830 including all fees and insurance. Awesome! I also spent most of my savings on an awesome new Canon Rebel XS which should arrive Thursday and will allow me to take amazing pictures while I'm in Ausi.
This past weekend was fabulous. After work Friday, a bunch of my coworkers came to the pool and we cooked up some burgers and hotdogs. It was a nice afternoon and the burgers were delicious. Eric got into town late and we decided to catch up on some sleep rather than going out which led to Saturday being extremely productive. We found a home for his mom's boxer Henry and Eric's uncle stopped in on his way back to Arizona to pick Henry up. Henry is loud, obnoxious and adorable and I miss him millions. But he will now have a good home, even though Eric and I felt awkward all weekend not having a dog to take out right when we got home. We also made huge progress on cleaning his mom's house. I headed to Greensboro Saturday afternoon for my sister's baby shower. It was a bunch of women, wine and ooohing and ahhhing over cute lil baby clothes. Baby Charlotte has some cute things filling up her closet and I hope she comes before I leave so I can meet her! After dinner and drinks with friends, I headed back to Chapel Hill for a night out with the beau. I may have lost some of my skill in Beer Pong, but I still have some Darts skill to fall back on. That's right, I beat two guys in a game of darts.
Sunday I got to lay by the pool and took a day to myself for the first time in a long time. Eric was running errands all day so I just relaxed and worked on my tan. About 2pm I remembered we left my car downtown, but luckily I'm a seasoned college student and parked somewhere they didn't think to tow yet. Boo yea! Eric and I then headed to the mall for some browsing, got side-tracked by delicious chinese food and then went to see The Hangover. HILARIOUS movie, I highly recommend it.
Today I'm back at work for my last week of work for a long time. Its exciting to know I won't have to come in next Monday but with the economy the way it is, I can only hope things are much better when I come back in January. Its off to Charleston this weekend with some of my roomies and a last hurrah with the lil bro.
3 weeks left . . .

I did it . . .
When I was in third grade, a little girl came and spoke to my class. She was from Australia and told us that she rode a Wallaby to school each day. I realize now she may have lied a little, but I've wanted to go to Australia ever since ...
Mission accomplished.
I just got accepted to a graduate school program in Australia and I will be leaving in July for 6 months!!! My life has taken some crazy turns lately and I wouldn't have gotten through it without my awesome friends and family. And now my parents have offered me the opportunity of a lifetime. I'll be in Brisbane, Queensland getting my Graduate Certificate in Advertising. I'm terrified and ridiculously excited. 6 months is a long time to go without seeing my loves, but I'll be keeping you all up to date on my adventures through my blog. The next month will be a lil crazy wrapping things up from work, moving out of my apartment and getting ready for my trip but I hope I get to see everyone before I leave.
I may be a little big to ride a Wallaby ... but I'm thinkin maybe a Kangaroo ...
