Those would be lyrics to a hilarious song by The Streets, look it up. The swine flu is pretty rampant here right now. Good news is I'm about one swine flu away from my goal weight, so I might just have to go expose myself.
Lets see, where did I leave off. Friday the roomies and I stayed in and had a spontaneous dance party. We all shared our favorite songs from our home countries and danced the night away. The videos on facebook are hilarious and definitely worth a look. Saturday I headed to the lagoon with Wolfgang and we met up with Jackie. It was absolutely beautiful and I love that I can get a great tan in winter here. Ladies, you will be a lil jealous of my sweet tan when I come home in December. While at the lagoon we could see a street performer who put his entire body through a tennis racquet. Most hilarious part of the show: as he pulled it over his chest he said "Now over the first piercing, now the second" and then we he got down to his waist said "and now to go over the third piercing." HAHA Then we took the City Cat home; I love that we can take taxis home on the water and it costs one whole dollar.
Saturday night was our second big party at the house. We grilled out again and then played cards while we waited for everyone to arrive. Our house is a fabulous party house. We probably had 20-30 people here at one point. We set up beer pong and my team ruled the table. Wolfgang and I won 3 games and then he ditched me saying he wanted to go out on top. Then Jackie stepped in as my partner. We were playing the british guys and one of them was holding his cup of beer and Jackie made it into his cup. Game over right? Well, evidently british guys don't take losing very well and it was also JB's birthday, so after listening to them complain for 5 minutes, I finally let it go. It was a good reign, but there were card games to participate in and dancing to partake in. I met a few Aussies and told them I was searching for a nice Aussie business man with a private jet to fly me around Australia. One guy said he had a toy plane at his mom's house . . . I told him that was nice and politely walked away. I also met our Aussie neighbor. I asked him who plays the trumpet daily and he said it was actually a French horn, and he did. Oops. He also said we kept him up til 4am last Saturday with our party so this time he decided to just come on over and hang out.
I then got the MOST awkward comment of my life. He said "Hearing your voice next door I expected a much fatter American." I don't know if I should be insulted that he thought my voice sounded fat, or flattered that he sort of said I was skinny for an American. I think I'm gonna go with insulted. We had a few casualties of the night. Before everyone arrived, the Germans gave me a lil plastic leprechaun from the Simpsons and said it was for good luck. I stuck him in my Miller Lite coozie and we partied together. At some point, someone decided to steal not only my leprechaun, but also my coozie. These people have no idea how important my coozies are to me, and that will NOT happen again. And if I see someone with my coozie, it will be war. The other casualty of the night was a hole in our bathroom wall, which is now cleverly covered with a specially placed paper reading "Please sit in pee!" . . . might have to talk to the German's about what message they were going for there.
I started losing my voice and getting a cough Saturday and by Sunday my body was done. I spent the day drinking hot tea with honey and watching movies. I did get out of cleaning up after the party though. And my nice roomies made me get out of bed around noon and fed me before I laid back down to try to kick this cold. The presentation today was only slightly awkward, and my voice, although kinda manly, was loud enough for others to hear. I also headed to the doctor who said my temperature wasn't high enough to test for swine flu and recommended some tylenol. Woo hoo!
Now its time for some hot tea with honey and a relaxing evening. . . heading to Australia Zoo in the morning!!!!!!!!!!
